Default Anyone interested swapping their Auto for a Manual?

I'm a in a bit of two minds at the moment trying to decide which direction to head with the EB. The 5 speed is a lot of fun but some days I wish it was auto again - usually when i feel lazy, need to tow things etc. I've done 50,000km now with the 5 speed and the box was new when it went in. It's got some noises which i'm not completely sure are normal and it pops out of reverse. It's the standard box - with the 2.95 first ratio not the 3.35 the gt/sprint had.

I was toying with the idea of seeing if anyone was interested in swapping transmissions + associated bits.

At the worst my box needs rebuilt and a new clutch would be a good idea - mine seems fine but 50k the way I drive it must be worn a bit?. My pedel box has been modified so that there wil never ever be any problems with firewall crackage/ pedel pin tearing off.

I think the deciding factor will be if I can get the eec to control the auto like in the 6cyl's and modify shifting points with the twEECer. I have been talking to pete but not specifically about making these changes to try to control the auto. Thats something I will have to research more

Synchro/bearing/seal set - $175 US odd
Whatever bits are broken - Either raid my parts bin or we'll go get some quotes. Why not convert it to GT/Sprint spec while we're at it?

haha go price a GT input shaft from Ford...I DARE YOU!

I can do a V8 auto and pre smartlock auto computer. I am looking at putting a manual in the NC.

Thanks for the offer shane, I have decided to wait a while. If I do anything i might just get another auto and put the manual in the shed (or get rob to rebuild it). I've got a 6cyl car on the go at the moment so it could possibly go into that

I advise against letting me rebuild it until mine has racked up a few kms :P

Yes I'm not sure why this thread (or the poll) is still alive. For those who may have noticed a Ghia5L posting influx this week, having no work to do, while still having to be at work, has reduced me to blatant whoring...
