Unhappy Anyone know the story behind this torched HO?

Just spotted this, very unfortunate for someone, was it an accidental fire or some low life after stealing her.

I don't think they'd have survived a fire like that, they would have just melted like plastic.

Queen Street never burned down to my knowledge, but someone did try to set fire to it... I am quite sure it was the storage place they had across the road and at the time it had some Euro stuff.

It looks like the XY from running on empty after it was torched.

Shame to see any JG33 look like that.

That was a sweet movie, got it on my shelf here in between Stone (the bike movie) and the hallowed Vanishing Point. Were some bits that make you cringe nowadays though, how the cars used were treated more so than the mediocre acting.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5NpgDiHfYA. Warning: Language. No end spoiler . Notable though is that I swear they cut out footage of a purple Valiant Charger in this clip, which goes past. It's been a while since I've had the time to watch it for the twenty something time though.

I doubt it's a HO, no rev limiter, no vacuum tank and fitted with brake dust shields on the front....but you never know, would be easy to confirm with the chassis number and a good inspection of the shell.

Tonka shop had an XY GT in the workshop when it burned down too.

Check out the last pic. Looks like it is the rego papers or something with the numbers. Should also be able to read the engine number on the block still.

the engine no. is listed as from a falcon 500. he claims the original engine was burnt in the fire, but it seems weird that he would use the number from a replacement engine that is not fitted. the falcon 500 engine may be the burnt one

wat ever they give number wise
thats still alot of coin for a piece of rubbish
honestly wat would it cost to get it to any state of driveability ?????
the gearbox and diff would be shagged (with that much heat)
it aint worth anymore than its scrap value
wether its a genuine gt or not
theres alot of money to be spent there

Its a GT, not a GT-HO.
It will probably cost about half its finished value to restore...

Do you know the colour trim combo?

I'd say unless you have alot of the parts to restore it, it could by up to $75K+ to get it back on the road and then you have a GT with no tags

it astounds me anyone would spend that sort of coin on a FALCON body shell(no tags melted or not)wether its a GT or not and assume that it would be anything fantastic when its finished
honestly how much would that cost u compared to a mock up ???????????????
yes i know mock 2 genuine is a bit of difference
the body is shagged
the engine would be shagged
the gearbox and diff would be shagged
oh and so is the body
yes it mite be a GT but honestly how much would it cost u
i know it MITE be a GT but who would take the risk of spending that sort of coin ????

4V MAN,
yes nobody is forcing me to buy it , u r rite

at the end of the day u r spending all ur hard earned cash on a body with a few NUMBERS
yes it mite (could)be a GENUINE GT ,thats a lot of coin on a shell
honestly weight up wat it would cost to finish it off
and still it would have no tags (worth less)
would u take the risk

And?

Just because you dont agree with it doesnt mean others will too.

You obviously have no idea about classic falcons and the value of them...

Don't want to hijack the thread, but let us all not be so quick to challenge others so quickly and so often on their spelling, et al,.... read "grammer"....

10g's is sure a lot of coin for something that trashed.
no interior, no tags, won't be too much thats not bent from the heat.

but there is a couple of keen bidders (2) hope they can make somthing of it.
