I hope its not a cheap knock off from the pommy version. I hope that the commentators have their own personalities and traits that are entertaining, not 3 blokes that are trying to be hammond, clarkson, and may..

With that said i hope there funny too lol. Half the fun of top gear is the on screen (and off) happening taht make it so enjoyable.

I also hope they dont just test cars well out of my prices range and that i would never see let alone own..

Well you hit the nail on the head! Same set, same tryhard effort at jokes (even using the word "git" which really annoyed me) and the same format. Lost me within the first 10 minutes.

I honestly think it will be great if not awesome. Finally a real aussie car show, unlike the crap seen over the years. People need to give it a chance and not be judgemental. At least watch the first episode then judge. The UK show started out pretty crap, but look at it now... Its the most pirated TV show in the world.

It has been confirmed that there will be a Falcon Vs Commodore duel at some point in the first 6 or 8 episodes. It wouldnt be an aussie car show without it i think. I just hope they dont Boganize it. Which i dont think will happen... FORD GT, Pagani Zonda = YUMMY.

Default Top Gear ? Not Overdrive

: Hi. I must admit I am a Big Bit undecided. It will have to improve somewhat. I know the British one has been going for a long time but the first time I saw it I didn't want to not miss the next week. I won't be home next Monday night and at this stage I am wondering if I will get it taped. What did the rest of you fellows think ? Glen. :monkes: :

Well, I thought the 1st episode was a little disappointing. Was hoping for something a little more original, but got the impression that it was just a poor substitute of the British version. Those guys are no Clarkson.
Reasonably good stories, but if they had tried to be more original, it would have come over better. A Mini Moke as a shark proof cage? What was the idea of that? May as well dangled a bucket in the water. I hope these guys can be more original with next week's stories.

If you had never seen the British version, then this would have been good viewing. However this was too much a pure copy and showed no originality. I think the only difference that will ever be between the 2 versions is in the Australian version will have Australian cars.

Not a bad effort for the first show. Couple of laughs in there (airborne Rav6) Pity they only glanced over the Lambo (yummmm).

Remember we are but a minority group on this forum, they can't please us all (yet) lol.

Bring on the Holden v Ford story next week.

Not too bad of a show but the moke segment was pointless and those guys lack presence and personality. Hope things improve - would love to see this show succeed!

I've never watched a full episode of the original version, but have heard many people rave about it. I think there is a lot of room for improvement tho, and am looking forward to next weeks episode.

I was disappointed. It was a rip-off, forced, and lacked originality. Then again, the very first episode of the real Top Gear felt forced as well. Maybe they will settle down after a few weeks.

All 3 are motor enthusiasts in their on rite. Ones a collector, ones a racer and another, dunno can't remember.
Apparently they're taking 3 diff types of Range/Land Rovers across the country to start off with.
I'll be watching no matter how good or bad thay might be.
