Lightbulb Sml-Mid Which car to buy

Which car to buy...

my grandma is looking to buy a new car, it is going to be a small to midsize car, just not sure what to buy, it must be a sedan 4dr looking at around 25k but more or less depending on car

the car probly wont be sold for a long time and this will probably be the car she keeps for the next 10 years

so it must be:
sedan 4dr
small-midsize
4cyl preferd not 6
safety is a must

so far shes thinking of getting the mitsubishi lancer ES, with my vote aswell...
the price of that is around 20-23k depending on extras

another thing is can someone please post up the top 5 cars of the year for small to mid range etc or just leave the web site

thanks

Honda Civic is a nice shot, i drove one and loved everything but the lack of 4.0 I6 Falcon power. Funky interior, good build quality, great resale and handled quite well -If i had to get a 4 cylinder N/A car that would be it.

One girl here at work just got a Mazda 3. Apparently a very good car and in that price range.

There are three I'd be looking at in your position...

#1. Ford Focus LX Sedan - $23,990
#2. Mazda 3 Maxx Sedan - $25,500
#3. Renault Megane Expression Sedan - $24,990

Everything else... forget it.

These are all 2.0L (107kW 185Nm Focus, 108kW 181Nm 3, 98kW 191Nm Megane), all in the small-mid category, all with high saftey ratings (5 stars with maximum points in the EuroNCAP for the Megane). IMO, in that class, at that price, I'd not look at anything but these three.
