Do you mean the "XR" logo on the boot and front quarter panels? If so... I think it was just a logo designed by ford... i.e not taken from any font.

Maybe bold Times new roman?

Dunno.

Though XR is a logo Ford designed themselves.

My question is what do you want to do with the font if you can get it?

Thank You for the reply.
I wanted to get some other lettering done "somewhere" on the car, in the style of the XR6 Badge.

Ok.
Step 1. Download a free font creator.
I did it for my AUII, changed the letters SR to match the FORD font. Save the font onto a floppy disk.
Step 2. Take it to a decal guy. I went to Parklea Markets in Sydney and had a guy make decals for the side and back. 2/3's cheaper than buying 'real' Ford decals. I also had them made a bit smaller.
Step 3. Clean the area very well, put them on with the car in the shade and take your time.
This pic shows how my SR decal looks. Its been on now for about a year.

Ken thats a nice effort, to be honest i didnt realise they were any different to the Ford ones, but they do look cleaner now you point it out.

The closest Ive been able to find to the Tickford font is Times New Roman in Bold.

OK Very quickly....
Download a free or trail font creator. You could try Font Creator Home Edition 5.0free trial version.

I didn't want to learn how to create a font from scratch so I took a short cut.
Using and image program (e.g. Fireworks or Paint shop Pro) I typed in the letter I want to change e.g. R

Using the cut tool I delated the line I wanted to get rid of. Next open the Font creator program. Select the font (the same as the one you used in the image program), find the letter e.g. R

I just then copied and pasted the cut version of R from the image program into the font creator.

Font Creator Home Edition 5.0 lets you skew change the size etc of each letter.
I matched the
from pics of the web and I also took a quick measure from a car in a car park, (hoping nobody was thinking I was trying to knock it off).

When you are happy with the look, save the font in a separate folder to your usual font folder (this mean that you won’t stuff up the ‘real’ letter R).

Open up MS Word find your new Font and type in the letters e.g. SR. Make it the size you want and print it out. Take the print out to you car and check for size shape etc.

You may have to reopen the Font creator if you want to modify the letter a bit more.

When I had what I wanted I saved the font to a floppy disk, found one of those letter writers guys, gave him the Font and then let him use his computer program to generate the stencil for the sticker decal. He showed me the size, I picked the colour and that’s that. It was a lot cheaper than buying the ‘real’ decal from Ford.

Hope this helps..

I was after the font ages ago but ended up doing the logo in paintshop and taking that to a sign writer.

However, if anyone has it in font format, I'd love a copy.

Uncle Ken,

Your computer prowess is a credit to you and your desire to help others out is doubly so.

Good job.

By the way, I was thinking of taking off the falcon and futura badges off the back of my futura tailgate and replacing them with the single Futura badge of the BA. What do you reckon?
