Boss 302.........should be great...........looks like they're finally going to stick a decent set of headers on the BOSS from the factory.......

Can't wait to see what they will look like.........and hopefully FPV will offer a no cost / low cost option on the FULL Brembo brake package across the board. The GT should never have been fitted with Territory rear brakes as standard.................. :togo:

Good times ahead..............

Well its kinda like History repeating itself........

Back in 78 when FORD had all those XC Cobra Coupe shells that they were having difficulty moving........they gave em all a Nice lick of paint, made them limited numbered editions and HEY PRESTO..........Instant classic.........they are worth quite a bit now, especially the 1st 30 which were BATHURST Homologated specials...........

You see, FORD / FPV are faced with stock that will potentially rot as people are now anticipating the Q2 2008 release of the ORION. If they discount to get rid of stock they will de value the whole FPV experience........However, limited edition models with some extra BLING and spark may attract the more astute buyers and prevent them from buying an "also ran" ORION FPV......I mean that in the nicest possible way.........

Not all potential FPV buyers are enthusiats........many are Investors and I reckon......just quietly that a limited edition BF Boss 302 Cobra will probably fetch much more in the long term aftermarket than a "standard" run of the mill ORION FPV GT...........

You can bet that FPV will live up to their poor record of over promising and under delivering.
I can see a lot of badges and stripes, but SFA when it comes to anything meaningful.
If they do suprise us, it will be too little too late.

FPV will do whatever it takes to move them. Imagine a customer chatting to a salesman about a new Orion when the salesman says “here’s a shiny new BF II you can have for the same price”. It’s plated last year, but we still want the full price for it. In my opinion, anyone that pays full price for any FPV needs to have a serious look at their negotiation skills.

I think FPV have a bit to learn if they think that some new style of crappy stripe will turn a V8 taxi into an instant classic.

wonder what stripe package will be offered this time. meh it's just another overhyped release like the 40th anniversary GT was.

So what are the three models??

1) FPV Territory
2)FPV Cobra "BOSS" 302
3)FPV Typhoon R spec

Is that correct??

Sounds pretty sweet to me.

Hopefully the FPV engineers "accidently" wind up the boost on the Typhoon.

It would be hilarious to have a model runout BF Typhoon spank a brand new GTS.

I wonder if HSV are announcing anything or will FPV be cleaning the floor??

I think they pulled a rabbit out of the hat with the 40th anniversary GT., unless i am wrong it is the only car since the XC Cobra to maintain / increase in value on release and that alone is a good outcome.

If it happens again is yet to be seen, but i would guess if a 320 ( or whatever spec ) GT Cobra is released it will go the same way and if not quicker than the 40th A GT did due to the hype that car has caused.

Then again i might be all wrong.

That's a bit harsh.
None of the FPV vehicles that I've seen are TAXIS...............
Do you own an FPV ?????

You can also be sure that a limited edition BFII with a 302Kw motor and limited release build will out do any new ORION GT in the aftermarket when it comes to $$$ value in 5 - 10 years time......... We are talking about limited editions here , not a "standard" BF II GT........

Agree..Appart from looking great 40th Aniv GT was pointless. Just a marketers car and not much different to a STD GT.

If FPV want to double sales they will have to get much more serious.

Thats all fine, but I dont care to wait 5 years for my car to become a great buy because it has depreciated less than its rivals, and 5 years of new products have been released onto the market which make todays model look agricultural.

I just want the best car, now. If I wanted an investment I'd buy gold, diamonds or old school muscle cars.

Just build the best damn car you can as standard and sell the thing!

Believe it not mate, he does own a GT?????

Most of the time he refer's to it as a taxi,it must terrible having such a low opinion of a car that you have spent 70k+ on.

Well that's the difference between an enthusiast and an Investor with a keen eye................often times they are mutually exclusive.

Sure they won't be worth Phase 3 money, but I reckon just quietly they'll be very sought after and will be worth double what standard GT's will be........

Part of the whole FPV / HSV attraction is exclusivity as well as Performance.

This is what we are told.

Typhoon Spec R - Special Wheels, Better Suspension and some highlights around the car including badging.

GT COBRA Series - Special Striping, Better Suspension, Special Design Wheels (GT40 I beleive), Limited Colour, 302 KW Boss Motor, Leather Seats, Special Floor Mats,

Pursuit COBRA - Special Striping, Better Suspension, Special Design Wheels, Limited Colour, Hard Cover, 302 Boss Motor, Leather Trim and Special Floor Mats.

Once these cars are sold out i believe the 302 KW Boss will be standard fit to GT/GTP/PURSUIT/SUPER PURSUIT but this will only be announced after they sell all the Limited Edition Stock...

With talk of the new V6 I dont think we will see an FPV Territory??

If they keep making limited editions the market will become flooded with them and the regular model will become the most limited edition.

Limited editions, some stripes, some mats, thrown in extras, different wheels, mainly cosmetic changes is just a form or marketing to get rid of surplus stock. If they become collectibles all the better. But nothing new and so far there is nothing I have read or heard about the up coming FPV's which will make me buy one and I am in the market to buy a GT. I will await the new model.

The fact that TURBO Ghia sales are on the low atm and the fact that they are going to bring a face lift out next year makes the objective of an FPV model seem very stupid.

Dont see how they could possibly put the development costs into a body kit, wheels for a car that will only see 12 months before a new front end?? Doesnt seem to make alot of fiscal sense to me.

I know what FPV can do?? Bring out a new model before the next model thats 100kw's more than the new model and then de tune when the new one comes out so they can make everyone happy!!!! FPV can invest on a whole new look on the old model, spend a fortune, charge heaps more and make a fortune ......!

Its a model on the way out for Petes sake!!!! .... It happens everytime, Holden Ford or what ever!!! I will be buying something before the Orion to take advantage of some good deals AND one of those special models with lots of stickers ..... dont care about investment .... just want a good car and do not like the VE stuff, especially the higher spec cars and those rear lights and over done plastic bits!
