HI
Can anyone tell me today i lost my spedo in my AU2. When this occured i am stuck in one gear have no cruise control. On the Ins cluster a code comes up DTE 20,19,18 etc...... when starting. Also the econonmy light comes on and off. ???? |

DTE 20, 19 etc means you need fuel. DTE = Distance To Empty. It's not 100% accurate, but what it means is that you are running on fumes.
If the gear you are stuck in is 3rd, then the car is in limp home mode - you need to take to an auto electrician, mechanic, or transmission place to get the codes dumped and see what error is stopping the car working properly. Lost speedo suggests that it's auto trans related, and the speedo gear/cable/connection has possibly come loose.

Normally faulty transducer, car thinks you are not moving as no speed is sent to computer but you want to rev it and the ABS sensors are reading so it doesn't know what to do hence puts you in limp home (that is why you are stuck in 3rd gear)
Cruise only works if you go faster than 40kmh, no speedo, no cruise Can be wire broken/unplugged or cog has stripped/broken Gotta get under the car and have a look, drivers side at rear of gearbox where it tapers down and the tailshaft goes in, the thing on top with an 8mm bolt, undo bolt and pull it out, there is an o ring so it will be a little bit tight |
