Hi, Have got a Mondeo MC TDCI. Great car, love it. Done 170k. Only concern is the DCT. It has never missed a beat, gets serviced as per log book.
The thing is,should I quit while I'm ahead and get an FG Falcon. I am retired, so have limited funds. Don't do a lot of Km these days so economy not such an issue. If the DCT were to pack up, what am I up for $'s. Any thoughts would help. Thanks. |

Evening, We had a MB Mondeo Titanium Diesel which we bought second hand, was a couple of years old when we purchased it and gave us around 7 years of trouble free driving. The DCT transmission started playing up at about 150,000 kms, it is recommended to be serviced every 30 thousand and we have no idea if the first owner did it or not. The car became pretty undrivable as shifts were really slow and clunky to the point of been dangerous. Got quoted $5k for a full box rebuild so disclosed this information and offloaded the car for a few grand as to us it wasn’t worth fixing.
