Actually Raptor, I was surprised to find that my EL XR8 dizzy was in fact controlled digitally by the
ECU when working normally. If there was a problem though and it stopped receiving the
ECU trigger signal then it would default to analogue mode. So a bit of a hybrid then, but you could still call it a mechanical vs electrical method of routing ignition spark.
