Hands up if your LS is pinging AND is a manual?
After abusing and lugging mine on a couple of different fuels I swear I can't detect any detonation - the
ECU knocks it off almost imediately when it did do it just the once on 91 RON, and I had to really abuse the thing like bunny hop and tramp the throttle.
What I did detect however was gearbox backlash when lugging in too high a gear, kinda sounds like loud pinging but definately gearbox related not engine combustion.
Maybe some are hearing that???? I hope it's that simple anyway.
