Thanks, I wondered what the OEM belt was branded. Saw a belt at Supercheap branded Calibre, noticed manufactured by Gates on the cardboard. Maybe FoMoCo is too. I see Motorcraft branded Ford belts on the web.
As shown your photo below, EPDM is the rubber used. EPDM replaced neoprene at some point, and is now always used, I Google. The EPDM belt is said to wear without as much sign of cracking etc as previously, so it's hard to tell the condition just by looking. There is a free gauge available on request from Gates, which is supposed to give an indication of a worn belt.
There's no service interval specified in the owner's manual but Gates suggests 150000 km. Mine's done close to 200000 so will change when doing the timing belt. Haynes specifies 200000 km.
