Default Re: Covid 19 -

It's been awhile since I've looked at the USA in detail but the worst hit states in terms of total cases remain relatively unchanged with New York, New Jersey, California (+1), Illinois (-1) and Massachusetts making up the worst five as well as 43% of the total cases in the USA. Indeed, New York has 18.2% of all the USA cases and 25.9% of the deaths while only having 5.87% of the population.

Cases per 100k of population is obviously led by New York with 2,090 and New Jersey with 1,909 but Rhode Island (1,535) jumps into 3rd ahead of Massachusetts (1,521) and DC with 1,365. In terms of sub-groups, the US military actually fares worst overall with 6,500 cases per 100k followed by Federal prison inmates with 4,780.

It's a different story for CMR with Connecticut (9.29%), Michigan (9.08%), New York (7.64%), Pennsylvania (7.57%) and New Jersey (7.56%) making up the worst five. Only Utah remains under 1% CMR.

In terms of deaths per 100k of population, New York (159.7) and New Jersey (144.2) are way out in front of Connecticut (118.4), Massachusetts (105.7) and Rhode Island (82.9). Hawaii (1.2), Alaska (1.6), Montana (1.8), Puerto Rico (2.9) and Guam (3.02) have the best numbers.
