As soon as the government co-investment money ran out, so too did Ford, Holden and Toyota.
Everytime a new Falcon or Commodore was proposed, always conditional on the tax payers
contributing a healthy portion and the government agreeing to significant fleet orders.
Today, the government doesn’t have to carry hundreds of million in funding
to support sheltered workshops for global car companies with their hands out.
Today, they just waste that funding on something else, maybe rock painting
or electric vehicles funding via green zealot taxes on the oil consuming working classes…
