I use the highest octane available at whatever servo I fill up at - then add upper cylinder lube AND octane boost. I double the amount of booster if I can only get 95 instead of the preferred 98. Expensive motoring but at least the motor will last for a good while until I'm ready to rebuild it for unleaded 98 (or LPG).
Fuel down the exhaust? Carby kit maybe ....
