Maybe look at soccer mum suvs and the general public type cars, obviously works more than not are work horse's having higher k's.

The original post by Winkle on fuel consumption/cost was based on running a Ranger so only utes of its nature are relevant to the discussion.
Obviously you need to factor in the multitude of uses of this type of vehicle which is why places like Gumtree and Carsales are good sources of this data as it represents all uses of the vehicles.
I stand by what I said, utes average in the vicinity of 25k per year.
