Actually, my search must have stuffed up, cos I just looked again and there are still some very affordable town houses 10-15kms from CBD, particularly the north and north eastern subs. This is in Melb obviously. Plenty out there if people are willing to sacrifice the suburb names. I understand its not easy if you have kids and you want to get them into a particular school zone.
