This depends of a few things. One of the reasons “in my opinion” is that police now wear body cams. They are quite mindful of things said and the way they can be interpreted. HWP have recorded interceptions for years but now that every Vicpol member wears one, things have changed a bit.

It also depends on …
Why they pulled you over.
Who you are.
Who pulled you over, such as HVU, HWP, general duties, etc
Did you fail the attitude test?
Does your vehicle attract “unwanted” attention?

There’s also a lot of other reasons where you can be extremely “passionate” with them regarding their behaviour when the circumstances are not traffic related. Over the last four years I’ve have frequent dealings with many members and believe me, they stuff things up, and often. There’s an immense sense of satisfaction when a magistrate gives a uniformed member a dressing down for their “unprofessional” behaviour in court.

Remember, police are there to do a job, they are not your friends.
