It would make more sense to follow European and American emissions laws if a huge number of our cars were exported to those countries...but they're not, so why should we meet
their emissions requirements...?
You can't blame the public for not buying "big local cars"...the Commodore and Falcon are the "flagship" models, but in this economic climate people want cheaper to run cars. I just got the rego for our four cylinder Triton...just over $700 here in Queensland...but that's a huge saving over our previous car, the six cylinder G6E. People do think about this sort of thing when making a purchase.
